The Office of the Merit Commissioner delivers
presentations to a variety of public service organizations to
educate and increase awareness about the value of merit-based
hiring practices. Please contact the Office at 250-953-4208 if you are
interested in inviting the Merit Commissioner to be part of your
program.
The Merit Commissioner has spoken at local,
national and international conferences and has participated on
panels and via webinars.
Recent sessions have included:

the Commonwealth Association of Public
Administration and Management, an international association
dedicated to strengthening public management throughout the
Commonwealth;

staff development - on the role of
independent officers - with the Office of the Auditor General;

many ministries as part of their lunch and
learn series or employee development sessions;

the annual APEX symposium for federal
government executive cadre on “Public Service Impartiality:
Taking Stock”
