The Office of the Merit Commissioner delivers presentations to a variety of public service organizations to educate and increase awareness about the value of merit-based hiring practices. The Merit Commissioner has spoken at local, national and international conferences and has participated on panels and via webinars.

Recent sessions have included:

• the Commonwealth Association of Public Administration and Management, an international association dedicated to strengthening public management throughout the Commonwealth;

• staff development - on the role of independent officers - with the Office of the Auditor General;

• many ministries as part of their lunch and learn series or employee development sessions;

•  the annual APEX symposium for federal government executive cadre on “Public Service Impartiality: Taking Stock”
